A wintry walk, a photoshoot and a robbery!

March 14, 2016

It’s fair to say there’s a lot going on right now. Firstly, and most prominently, we are having a baby. I’m currently 25 weeks and loving being pregnant. Feeling our baby wriggling around and kicking is the most incredible sensation and makes me smile every time. Secondly, we are buying a house. It’s all a bit quiet on the house front right now, as we have exchanged contracts but our new home is yet to be completed; it’s a new build and will be finished (we hope) in February. It’s very exciting and we can’t wait to get in there and start our new life as a family.

In the meantime, we are living partly with the inlaws and partly on the narrowboat. It has to be said that a narrowboat is not an ideal home for a pregnant lady with severe joint issues, but I do have a soft spot for the old place. Unfortunately, this has been marred by the break in that occurred a few weeks ago. Even worse, they stole my beloved Pentax SLR and my 50mm lens, which is my standard kit for all my shooting. Worse still, I had a family shoot booked in for the following Sunday and no camera.

After an initial panic, I managed to borrow a camera from my brother in law, Tom, and luckily I had gone on so much about how great 50mm 1.8 lenses were for the money that he had bought one, so I got to borrow that, too. Though the camera is a lower spec, I think the shots still turned out great, which just goes to show that you don’t have to have the most expensive kit or lenses to take nice photos.

I hope you’ll all agreeMG_6473-2MG_6424MG_6399MG_6179
